The Academy of Athletes

MS Academy provides access and opportunities for athletes from multiple sports disciplines to prepare themselves through an individualized training program based on analysis. Additionally, Modum Sport's sports academy develops all learning phases according to age, from mastering the fundamentals of sports to developing specific skills for each discipline.
In parallel, it accompanies and assists its athletes on the challenging journey of securing scholarships at top American universities due to their performance as athletes.

Our Programs

The English School of Asturias Sports Academy

At Modum Sport Academy, we believe that sports, along with academic and personal development, play an equally critical role in helping a child reach their full potential. Our learning system for the holistic development of students together with adapted and tailored teaching, is the foundation of the future success of student-athletes. With the agreement reached with the English School of Asturias, the two fundamental pieces of the development of young people, studies and sport, fit together perfectly to be able to provide a service of the highest quality and exclusive to this center. At the English School of Asturias, student athletes have the freedom to be 'more'. More than a student. More than an athlete. With an integrated approach to academics, sport and personal development, the union of the English School of Asturias and MS Academy allows student-athletes to explore their passions without sacrificing for each other. Our community of teachers, coaches, specialists, and staff demonstrate unmatched expertise in their fields, yet work as one with the unified goal of creating an environment in which student-athletes thrive.

Learning Levels:

Sports School 1

Ages: 3 and 4 years old
Objectives: Basic psychomotricity and safety
Schedule: from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM
Location: M&W at English School / Tu&Th at Santi Cazorla Pool (includes transportation from school to the pool)

Sports School 2

Ages: 5 and 6 years old
Objectives: Complex psychomotricity and movement autonomy
Schedule: from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM
Location: M&W at English School / Tu&Th at Santi Cazorla Pool (includes transportation from school to the pool)

Sports School 3

Ages: 7 and 8 years old
Objectives: Complex movements and sports fundamentals
Schedule: from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM
Location: M&W at English School / Tu&Th at Santi Cazorla Pool (includes transportation from school to the pool)

Sports Specialization 1

Ages: 9 and 10 years old
Objectives: Teaching handball and swimming (a team sport and an individual sport)

Handball

To maximize athletic development, young handball players need a combination of gameplay and training to enhance their technical skills. Modum Sport Academy offers the best training programs tailored to each player's positions and aspects of the game. The camps are designed for ages 13 to 19 preferably, both boys and girls, with customizable programming for all skill levels.

Content of the work:

Individual profile analysis: biometric characteristics, physical and technical abilities, mental capacities, and sports habits.
Physical training: overall physical condition, individual offensive and defensive techniques, individual and collective tactics, strategic models. Adapted for different positions (including goalkeepers).
Mental training: competition and training management.
Invisible training: nutrition and recovery methodologies.
Team training: team building (group dynamics, alternative activities such as canoeing, etc.).

Based on individual analysis of each athlete and thanks to a proven training methodology, we will help you become a better and smarter water polo player. The camps are for ages 13 to 19 preferably, both boys and girls, with customizable programming for all skill levels.

Swimming

The swimming camps at Modum Sport Academy are led by high-level coaches and athletes with experience in the technical performance foundations of top-level swimming. The training program includes technical content for all four swimming styles, underwater swimming, starts, and turns. Additionally, strength and conditioning work is focused on improving force application in the water and learning to prevent swimming-related injuries. The camps are for swimmers aged 11 to 18. The schedule will be customizable for all skill levels.

At Micampus Residence in Oviedo, we offer individual, double, and triple rooms equipped with a bathroom, wardrobe, desk, shelves, air conditioning, and WiFi connection, among other services. In addition to a dining area, there are common areas, projection rooms, a training gym, and laundry service. It provides the ideal environment for the proper development of our athletes' training programs.
